In short

Soirama asks for no account and ships no analytics tool: the publisher receives nothing of what you do in the app. Your profile, ratings and watchlist stay on your phone. The app does show advertising, served by Google AdMob, which collects technical data: see “Advertising” below.

What stays on your phone

Your favourite categories, ratings, watchlist, taste portrait, dismissed titles and settings are stored on your device only. “Reset my profile”, in the Profile tab, erases them; so does uninstalling the app.

Recommendations are written on the device, by Apple Intelligence, by the local model or by rules. Your profile is not sent to any artificial intelligence server.

What goes over the network

To find titles, the app queries public catalogs. These requests contain search criteria (genres, years, language, the title searched for), never your profile; like any connection, they pass your IP address to the service queried.

  • TMDB (The Movie Database): movie and series search, details, posters, trailers and streaming availability (JustWatch data).
  • AniList: anime search, and your AniList username if you choose to import your list.
  • Hugging Face: download of the local model, only if you ask for it.
  • YouTube: trailer playback, only if you open one.

Advertising

The app is paid for by advertising, served by Google AdMob. Before the first ad, a consent form appears: you choose what advertising may use, and you can change that choice at any time in Profile, “Ad choices”. On iPhone, iOS also asks whether the app may track your activity: you can say no, and the app works the same.

To serve an ad, Google receives technical data: the device advertising identifier, the IP address (so an approximate location), device model and system version, and your interactions with the ad. It is used for delivery, measurement and, if you allow it, personalisation. It is never tied to your taste profile, which stays on the phone. Google publishes what it does with this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Two placements, never more: one sponsored card in the results stack, and at most one full-screen ad per session. Ads are limited to general-audience content (Google’s G rating).

History import

The exported file (Netflix, Prime Video, Letterboxd, IMDb) or the pasted list is read on your phone. Only the titles are looked up in the catalog; the file is not sent anywhere.

Children

Soirama is not aimed at children and asks them for nothing. The ads it shows are limited to general-audience content.

Your rights

The publisher holds no data about you: what the app keeps is on your phone, and “Reset my profile” erases it. For advertising, you can review your consent in Profile, “Ad choices”, and reset or remove the advertising identifier in your iPhone settings. For any question, write to us.
